Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information The Global Skin Edit collects, why, and what your rights are. It is written to meet Australian privacy expectations, including the Privacy Act and the Australian Privacy Principles. It is written plainly on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email me at admin@globalskinedit.com and I will explain it properly.

The Global Skin Edit is operated by Janelle Moser (ABN 26 944 556 122), based in Victoria, Australia.

What I collect

When you join the newsletter. If you sign up for The Weekly Edit, I collect your email address, and your first name if you choose to give it. That is it.

When you take the quiz. If you use the routine finder, I collect the answers you give (things like age range and skin concern) and, if you ask me to send you a routine, your email address.

When you contact me. If you email me, I keep your message and email address so I can reply.

Automatically, when you browse. Like almost every website, this site collects some basic technical information through analytics tools, such as which pages are visited, roughly which region visitors are in, and what type of device is used. This is aggregated and is not used to personally identify you.

Cookies. This site uses cookies, which are small files stored in your browser. Some keep the site working, some help me understand which articles are useful through analytics, and some are affiliate cookies that tell a shop you arrived from one of my links. You can turn cookies off in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may then work less smoothly.

Why I collect it

Only for these reasons: to send you the newsletter you asked for, to send you the quiz result you asked for, to reply to you, to understand which content is helpful so I can make the site better, and to earn the affiliate commissions that keep the site running. I do not collect anything I do not need.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one, the retailer may place a cookie to record that you came from me, so I earn a small commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. The full explanation is on my [Affiliate Disclosure page]. Those retailers have their own privacy policies, which govern what happens once you are on their site.

Who I share it with

I do not sell your personal information to anyone. Ever.

I do use a small number of trusted third-party services to actually run the site, and your information passes through them only so they can do their job. These include Netlify (my website host) and MailerLite (my email provider). Each has its own privacy policy. I only work with services that handle data responsibly.

I may also disclose information if the law genuinely requires it, which I do not expect to happen.

Where your data is stored

Some of the services above may store data on servers outside Australia. Where that happens, I take reasonable steps to use providers that protect your information to a comparable standard.

Children

This site is written for a general audience, and the pre-teen and teen content is written for parents, not marketed to children. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 15. If you believe a child has given me their information, please email me and I will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If I change how any of this works, I will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged clearly.
