I'm not an influencer. I'm the opposite.

Influencers get sent free products and get paid to tell you they're amazing. I'm the one who watched those videos, believed them, and paid full price. So think of me as the customer who finally started reading the fine print, out loud, for everyone.

I'm Janelle. I'm 46, I live in Melbourne, and I have never had Botox or fillers.

Not because I'm against them. Because I kept believing the ads that told me I wouldn't need them. The serum that "works like Botox, without the needle." The cream with the before-and-after photos that looked too good to be true. The miracle ingredient some celebrity supposedly swears by. I bought them. More of them than I want to admit, and I can count the ones that did anything at all on one hand.

The moment that tipped me over wasn't even my own face. It was my kids. My daughter and son hit the age where breakouts started, and the internet immediately began selling them the same lies it sells me, just with brighter packaging. Retinol for twelve-year-olds. Ten-step routines for skin that needs three. Influencers who've never met a product they wouldn't promote for a commission.

So I started doing what I wish someone had done for me: checking. What does the evidence actually say? What's in this product? Who is it actually for? What's the same thing for a quarter of the price? What should you not put anywhere near a child's face?

The Global Skin Edit is where I publish what I find. Skincare from all over the world, Korea, Japan, France, Australia, wherever it's genuinely good, fact-checked and sorted by age, from pre-teens to faces like mine. Every product gets a straight verdict: actually works, worth a shot, save your money, or absolutely not.

You won't see my face here, and that's deliberate. No face, no sponsorship pressure, no reason to tell you anything but the truth. Just a real 46-year-old testing the promises this industry makes, so you and your kids don't have to pay the miracle-cream tax I did.
